                                      Beekeeping Workshops Schedule

 

Beginning Organic Beekeeping: Planning for next Spring, Saturday March 7th or Saturday March 28th 10am-5pm, $65 – One-day workshop covering the the basics of treatment-free beekeeping: understand the mechanics of a hive, tools involved, elements of site selection, and an intro to a holistic approach to beekeeping. Lecture & discussion.

 

Advanced Beekeeping Class, Saturday April 4th noon till 4 pm, $45 -- Advanced techniques covered will be swarm-catching, splitting a hive in the spring, supering a hive, honey removal techniques, and wax processing. 



 

Small-cell Beekeeping Class, Saturday Feb 28th or Saturday April 18th, 1 pm – 5 pm, $45 – Why go to small-cell bees? Find out in this advanced class focusing on small cell colonies and  regression methods. (Beginning Organic Beekeeping a prerequisite.)

 

Beekeeping Lab, Saturday May 2nd  or Saturday June 13th, 10am-2:00pm, $45 – Hands-on lab to foster familiarity with yard techniques—how to open a hive, look for disease, swarm cells, brood examination. Beginning Organic Beekeeping a prerequisite. Must have protective clothing. Limit of 4.
